Raipur – Today, on the 38th martyrdom day of Raipur resident Indian Army Lieutenant Colonel Martyr Pankaj Vikram, a brief floral tribute event was organized to pay respectful homage to him in front of his statue located in front of Pensionbada Vivekanand Nagar Complex of the capital city Raipur under the aegis of the Culture Department of Municipal Corporation Raipur, with the cooperation of Municipal Corporation Zone 4. By reaching the brief floral tribute event of Municipal Corporation Raipur, the first citizen of the capital city, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Raipur, Meenal Chaubey, paid tribute to Martyr Pankaj Vikram on the martyrdom day by paying respectful homage to him on behalf of all the residents of the capital. Raipur Lok Sabha MP Brijmohan Agarwal, Raipur Mayor Meenal Chaubey, Raipur South MLA Sunil Soni, Chairman Suryakant Rathore, Culture Department Chairman Amar Gidwani, Councilor Swapnil Mishra paid their respects to Raipur resident Indian Army Lieutenant Colonel Shaheed Pankaj Vikram on his 38th martyrdom day and said that Shaheed Pankaj Vikram is not only a proud man of Raipur and Chhattisgarh state but also of the entire nation. Every citizen will remember his immortal martyrdom while serving the motherland for ages.

It is specially worth mentioning here that in the year 1987, Army Lieutenant Colonel Shaheed Pankaj Vikram attained martyrdom on 14th August 1987 during the war with LTTE militants while serving the nation in the peace building campaign of Indian Army in Sri Lanka under the India-Sri Lanka Peace Building Agreement to free Sri Lanka from the insurgency of LTTE militants. To keep the sweet memories of martyrdom of Raipur resident Lieutenant Colonel Shaheed Pankaj Vikram of Indian Army everlasting, Raipur Municipal Corporation respectfully installed his statue in front of Pension Bada Vivekanand Nagar Complex in the capital city. Where every year under the aegis of the Culture Department of Raipur Municipal Corporation, a brief floral tribute event is organized on his martyrdom day on 14th August and the martyrdom given to his motherland is paid respectful homage among the citizens of the city. In today’s brief floral tribute program at the statue site, on the 38th martyrdom day, martyr Pankaj Vikam was paid homage by Raipur Lok Sabha MP Brijmohan Agarwal, Raipur South MLA Sunil Soni, Municipal Corporation Chairman Suryakant Rathore, Municipal Corporation Culture Department Chairman Amar Gidwani, Ward Councilor Swapnil Mishra, martyr Pankaj Vikam’s elder brother Captain Neeraj Vikam, martyr’s friend Dilip Panjwani, martyr’s brother-in-law Sunil Dongre, social worker Pastor Court Chairman John Rajesh Paul, All India Ex-Servicemen Council Raipur’s Subedar Gajmohan Sahu, Chetan Lal Sahu, Naib Subedar Purendra Sahu, Divisional President Sunil Kukreja, social worker Ms. Gayatri Chandrakar, Municipal Corporation Zone 4 Zone Commissioner Arun Dhruv, Deputy Engineer Ranjit Barwa, Zone Health Officer Virendra Chandrakar along with other eminent personalities, dignitaries, social workers and common people.
