Public hearing held for inclusion of 5 castes in the backward class list

Bhopal:  The National Backward Classes Commission held a public hearing on Friday to include 05 castes included in the list of backward classes of Madhya Pradesh state in the central list. Public representatives of Kalar (Jaiswal), Kudmi, Damaami, Phoolmali (Phoolmari) and Lodha (Tanwar) classes participated in it. Chairman of the National Backward Classes Commission (Cabinet Minister rank) Shri Hansraj Gangaram Ahir presided over the public hearing organized at the office of Madhya Pradesh Backward Classes Commission located at Shyamala Hills. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Smt. Krishna Gaur, Advisor of the National Backward Classes Commission Shri Rajesh Yadav, Member of the National Backward Classes Commission Shri Bhuvan Bhushan Kamal and Under Secretary of the National Backward Classes Commission of the Government of India Yogesh Dhingra also participated in it.

Chairman of National Backward Classes Commission, Mr. Hansraj Gangaram Ahir said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, the commission is working to ensure that every caste gets its rights. He has directed the department to correct the errors. Commission Chairman Mr. Ahir said that the matter will be reviewed again in a month.

In the public hearing, Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Smt. Gaur expressed her gratitude to the officials and representatives of the concerned castes who attended the program, including the Chairman and members of the National Backward Classes Commission. She said that the shortcomings of the survey report will be rectified as soon as possible and the survey report will be sent to the National Commission. She also assured to listen to the problems of the concerned castes and solve them soon.

Dr. Ramkrishna Kusmaria, Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Backward Classes Commission also thanked the Chairman and members of the National Commission. He said that we are working diligently to ensure that the backward classes get their rights in social, educational and service areas.

Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad, under the Madhya Pradesh Government’s Planning, Economic and Statistics Department, had conducted a survey to collect data on social, educational and service backwardness of 32 castes/sub-castes/class groups. After a field survey of about 6 months, Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad presented the data of the said castes to the government. A public hearing was organised to study these data.

Member of Madhya Pradesh State Backward Class Commission Mr. Sitaram Yadav, Additional Chief Secretary of Backward Class and Minority Welfare Department Mr. Ajit Kesari, Additional Secretary Mr. Anurag Chaudhary, Commissioner Mr. Saurabh K. Suman, Secretary Dr. Nilesh Desai were present in the public hearing.
