Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar recently announced his reunion with director Priyadarshan after 14 years. The actor-director duo has teamed up for the horror-comedy film ‘Bhoot Bangla’. Their collaboration has got cinephiles quite excited and they are looking forward to it. In a recent interview, Priyadarshan, who has worked with Akshay in films like ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, ‘Bhagam Bhag’, ‘De Dana Dan’ and ‘Garam Masala’, said that they have come together after 14 years and are trying their best from their side, but are unable to live up to the expectations of the audience.
During his recent appearance on the green carpet of ‘IIFA Awards 2024’ on Saturday (September 28), Priyadarshan spoke about reuniting with Akshay after 14 years and how he cannot manage the expectations of the audience. He told PTI, “Every film I have made with him has been a superhit. People say you are the reason Akshay does comedy, but I don’t believe in all that.”
Priyadarshan further said, “What I did was to exploit his sense of humour (on screen). We are working after 14 years and I hope things work out. It is a challenge. We cannot match the expectations of the audience but I am trying my best.”
