Prime Minister praised Butluram Mathra of Narayanpur in Mann Ki Baat

Raipur. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned Mr. Butluram Mathra of Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh in the 115th episode of his popular radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday morning, his hard work done over the years to save and promote folk art shone on the national stage. This was the moment to salute the rich cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh and those unsung heroes who preserve it, whose efforts have kept this heritage alive.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared the story of Butluram ji in Mann Ki Baat and told that for the last four decades he has been continuously working to save and promote the unique folk art of the Abujhmadia tribe. “Butluram ji has preserved those heritages of folk art, which echo the culture of Chhattisgarh. His dedication and devotion are a source of inspiration for the coming generations.” This appreciation from the Prime Minister was a testimony to the dedication that Butluram ji has shown to preserve his culture, which has not only brought laurels to Chhattisgarh but has also brought out its uniqueness in front of the whole world.

He said that it is a good thing that the Prime Minister has praised the artists doing good work in the field of folk art. Shri Butluram Mathra ji has done a great job in preserving folk art. He has also done a great job in promoting the Prime Minister’s Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and Swachh Bharat. Tribal culture is in its most original form in Narayanpur. Our government will promote the efforts of Shri Mathra ji.
