Prime Minister Modi’s Panchamrit Sankalp will give new direction to the world: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Bhopal. In the second phase of the fourth Global Renewable Energy Investor Meet in Gandhinagar, there was an intense discussion between the Chief Ministers of various states. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the resolution of “Panchamrit” by Prime Minister Narendra Modi; achieving the target of net zero emission by the year 2070, increasing the non-conventional energy capacity to 500 gigawatts by the year 2030, increasing the share of renewable energy in gross energy production to 50 percent by the year 2030, reducing the intensity of emissions by 45 percent and reducing carbon emissions by 1 billion tons by 2030 has given a new direction to the whole world.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the renewable energy capacity of the state in the year 2012 was less than 500 megawatts. We have formed a separate department and increased the capacity 14 times in 12 years with policies and various incentives and achieved the target of 7 thousand MW. For the first time in the country, solar energy cheaper than coal-produced energy has been provided from the solar energy park established under the Rewa Solar Project. Delhi Metro was given electricity from this. It has been included as a case study in Harvard University. The electricity tariff in the Neemuch Solar Park of the Agar-Shajapur-Neemuch Solar Project is Rs 2.14 per unit, which is the lowest in the country. Electricity is being supplied to the state as well as the Indian Railways from this project. A 1500 MW capacity solar park is under construction in Agar-Shajapur-Neemuch.
The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh has the power to make the impossible possible. The world’s largest floating solar project of 600 MW capacity is being developed in Omkareshwar on Maa Narmada, in which panels of 200 MW project have been installed. In the floating solar project, water loss due to evaporation will be reduced and no displacement will be required for the project.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is the “Heart of Incredible India”. With about one-third forest area and pioneering work in renewable energy, Madhya Pradesh has a vision of becoming the “Lungs of Incredible India”. We will produce more than 20 thousand MW of renewable energy in the coming years and by 2030, 50 percent of the energy will be taken from renewable sources. In mission mode, the target is to install solar rooftops on all government buildings by the year 2025.
The Madhya Pradesh government is considering making necessary changes in the state’s existing pump hydro action plan for the smooth development of pump hydro energy storage projects, so that all investors can easily invest in the state. 15 thousand hectares of land has been identified in Agar, Dhar, Ashoknagar, Bhind, Shivpuri and Sagar districts, where 7 thousand 500 MW solar energy capacity will be installed. The target is to set up 3 thousand MW wind power in Ujjain, Agar, Dhar, Mandsaur and Ratlam. Energy production from Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) is also being done in Madhya Pradesh and in future we are considering using unused lands like Chambal ravines for the production of compressed bio gas.
The Chief Minister said that to promote renewable energy, we are setting up a state-of-the-art manufacturing zone of 227.54 acres at a cost of Rs 464.65 crore in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh is providing attractive incentives on land, electricity, water rates in this zone such as land allotment at a token amount of Rs 1 for land interest, annual lease rent of Rs 1 per square meter, discount in electricity rate (tariff) of Rs 4.36 paise per unit for the first 5 years, etc. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav assured the Prime Minister that Madhya Pradesh will play an important role in achieving the target of 500 GW renewable energy by the year 2030.
In the second phase of the program, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav held one-to-one meetings with domestic and foreign investors to discuss investment in Madhya Pradesh. Prominent investors from Wind Power Association, Hero Future Energy, Torrent Power, Shakti Pumps, Sambcorp Singapore, VariEnergy, Serentica Renewable, Renew Power, Shell Group Suzlon, Welspun, Vena Energy, Blueleaf Borosil Group, State Craft etc. Madhya Pradesh Renewable Energy Minister Mr. Rakesh Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Manu Shrivastava, Principal Secretary Industry Mr. Raghavendra Singh were also present in the meeting. In a personal discussion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav invited investors in the field of renewable energy to invest in the state. The Chief Minister assured that any impending obstacle in this regard will be removed by the state government.
Investors showed interest in investing in Madhya Pradesh
The Wind Power Association requested Chief Minister Dr. Yadav to develop wind parks on the lines of solar parks. Avaada Group gave a proposal regarding investment of about Rs 5000 crore in the state. Torrent Power requested to issue a policy soon for the development of pump hydro storage projects in the state. Sambcorp Group expressed interest in investing in the proposed Morena and Neemuch solar projects in the state. Renew Power also expressed interest in investing about Rs 6000 crore in the state. In view of the blade production unit established by Suzlon Energy in the state, the state government was requested to invite tenders for wind projects in Madhya Pradesh itself, so that there is a possibility of investment in the state.
