President presented Swachh Survekshan Award 2023 to Chief Minister
Delhi. President Draupadi Murmu presented the Cleanest City Award for the year 2023 to Indore city at the Swachh Survekshan Award ceremony held at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi. Indore has achieved this feat for the seventh consecutive time with 7-star rating as a garbage free city. Madhya Pradesh also received the second place award in the category of cleanest states. Team Madhya Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, received the awards.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated the people of the state, public representatives and cleanliness friends for this achievement and thanked them for their cooperation. He said that the credit for Indore reaching the pinnacle of cleanliness for the seventh consecutive time goes to the efficient guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Madhya Pradesh will continue to contribute in realizing the resolve of cleanliness and expressed hope that the state will perform even better in the upcoming survey.
Due to cleanliness efforts in the state, 7 cities have got Water Plus status, 361 cities have got ODF++, 3 cities have ODF+ and 7 cities have got ODF status. The state has one 7-star, one 5-star, 24 3-star and 132 1-star garbage free cities.
In the program, Bhopal city has got fifth position in the list of clean cities with 5 star rating in Garbage Free City. Budhni has received the award of the cleanest city of the West Zone among the cities with population of 15,000 to 20,000 in the state. Among the cities with population less than one lakh, Naurozabad and Amarkantak have got the first and second position in the fast moving city category. Mhow has achieved the title of cleanest cantonment board.
