19 people, including two children, have been killed due to the powerful storm that hit the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Arkansas in Central America. Seven people have died in Cook County, Texas, near the Oklahoma border. Here the storm caused massive destruction in a rural area. County Sheriff Ray Sappington said all that was left was a pile of debris. There has been massive destruction. The sheriff said that two children were also among the dead. At one place three members of a family died. He said that the death toll could increase as search and rescue operations are still going on to find the missing people. Texas Governor Greg Abbott said 100 people were injured in the storm. However, it is a bit difficult to tell the exact figure.
He said, more than 200 houses and other buildings were completely destroyed and more than 100 houses were damaged. Trees and electric poles have been uprooted at many places in this storm. Valley View areas were most affected. The storm also affected Texas, Kansas, Tennessee, Missouri.
