Political turmoil over ceasefire: Congress raises questions on Pakistan’s trickery, country stands with the army

Madhya Pradesh: Political tussle over ceasefire: Why Congress opposes it?- The recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan has created a lot of uproar in the political corridors. The Congress party has raised many questions on this ceasefire and expressed its displeasure over this initiative of the government. Let’s know what are the objections of the Congress?

Questions on the timing of the ceasefire- The Congress believes that it is not wise to have a ceasefire with Pakistan when terrorist attacks are continuing. They say that this step gives a wrong message to Pakistan and can promote terrorism. The party also believes that now is the time to give a strong reply to Pakistan, not to talk.

Controversy over the role of America and UNO- The Congress has also objected to the fact that the ceasefire was announced by the US, whereas this work should have been done by the United Nations (UNO). They believe that it is not appropriate for the US to interfere in this matter and it challenges India’s sovereignty.

Army expected to take action in PoK- The Congress says that terrorists are continuously infiltrating India from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). The country was expecting that the army would take action in PoK, but the ceasefire decision has disappointed them. The party claims that the opposition and the people of the country are with the army, but this decision is against public sentiment.

Digvijay Singh’s demand: Special Parliament session- Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has demanded the Prime Minister to call a special session of Parliament. He says that this announcement from Washington has raised many questions and there is a need to discuss national interests by taking all parties together.

Pakistan broke the ceasefire- Pakistan violated the ceasefire just 3 hours after it came into effect. Firing and mortar attacks were carried out in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir. There were also drone attacks from Pakistan, which were foiled by the Indian air defence system.
