 Devastation and its Impact_The scale of destruction is immense. Countless families have lost their homes, roads and bridges are impassable, and daily life has come to a standstill. The disaster has not only caused significant material damage but also created immense emotional distress for the affected families. The immediate priority is to restore essential services and provide immediate relief.

 CM Dhami’s Personal Contribution-Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has shown compassion by donating his one-month salary to the relief fund. This gesture signifies solidarity with the victims and aims to boost their morale during this challenging time. His act of generosity is not just financial support but also a symbol of hope and encouragement.

 Harish Rawat’s Support and Critique-Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat also pledged his one-month pension to the cause, praising Dhami’s initiative. However, he also criticized the ruling party, suggesting that funds spent on the recent panchayat elections should have been diverted to the state disaster relief fund. This statement has sparked a political debate.

Relief Efforts in Dharali-Progress is being made in restoring essential services. Power supply has been restored in Dharali and surrounding areas, and communication networks are operational. Repair work on damaged roads and bridges is underway, ensuring the flow of essential supplies to affected areas. The focus is on rebuilding essential infrastructure as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Coordinated Relief Operation-The relief and rescue operation is being led by a team of IAS and IPS officers. Their coordinated efforts are crucial in ensuring that aid reaches those in need and that people are moved to safety. The strong leadership has significantly accelerated the relief work.

 Community Kitchens and Food Distribution-Community kitchens have been set up in Dharali and Harsil to provide free meals to affected families. The administration is committed to ensuring that everyone has access to food and shelter. These community efforts are a testament to the spirit of togetherness in times of crisis.

Evacuating Stranded Tourists-Tourists stranded in Gangotri, Jhala, and Harsil are being evacuated by helicopter. Over 260 tourists were successfully moved from Harsil to Matli by Friday evening. The evacuation operation continues to ensure the safety of all those affected by the disaster.
