Political heat increases over Kanker Naxalite encounter: CM Vishnudev Sai's reaction on former CM's allegations
The recent clash between Naxalites and security forces in Kanker, Chhattisgarh, has sparked a political debate. Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has raised questions about the authenticity of the encounter. He claims that such encounters were fabricated during the BJP’s tenure. Baghel also alleges that innocent tribal people are being intimidated by the police in areas like Bastar and Kondagaon.
In response, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai dismissed Baghel’s allegations, stating that Baghel should not cast doubt on everything. He even compared Baghel’s skepticism to questioning events like surgical strikes and air strikes. Sai emphasized that the incident occurred in his state and challenged Baghel to prove his claims. He asserted that if the encounter was fake, Baghel should provide evidence.
Home Minister Vijay Sharma also weighed in on Baghel’s statement, challenging him to prove the encounter was fake. He warned Baghel that if he couldn’t substantiate his claims, he should apologize to the CRPF, BSF, DRG personnel, and the people of Bastar. Sharma criticized Baghel for politicizing every issue and reminded him that it wasn’t appropriate.
