Police’s behavior and attitude should be sensitive towards the public: Mangubhai Patel

Bhopal. Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that the behavior and attitude of the police is important in serving the public. The behavior of the police should be sensitive towards the public. The sensitive behavior of the police increases the respect for the police in the minds of the public and makes the image of the police public-friendly. Governor Shri Patel was addressing the program of meeting the officers and employees awarded with the President’s Police Medal. On this occasion, he congratulated and wished the medal recipients of Madhya Pradesh Police, Jail and Home Guard and their families.

It is known that this year a total of 69 police officers and employees of the state police have been awarded the President’s Police Medal. This honor was given for bravery, distinguished service and commendable service. The program was organized in the Sandipani Auditorium of Raj Bhavan.

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that the state police has done commendable work towards environmental protection along with the responsibilities of law and order. The police has planted 1.25 lakh saplings in a day under the “Ek Ped-Maa Ke Naam” campaign. Governor Shri Patel congratulated the Madhya Pradesh Police Force for this success. He also called upon the state police to take responsibility for the future care of the planted saplings.

The role of police is important in cyber awareness

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that in the era of information technology, the nature of cyber crimes has changed. Mostly children, women, rural and underprivileged people are becoming victims of cyber crimes. Police will have to play an important role in cyber awareness. Police will have to be technically and legally proficient, do sensitive investigation and take punitive action against cyber criminals. He said that every officer-employee of the state police should perform their duties with full devotion and commitment.

Now there is a need for predictive policing from reactive policing

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that in a democratic system, active police is the basis of a strong and healthy society. Security is necessary for the development of society, police is necessary for security. Police will have to keep themselves updated according to the time. Now there is a need for predictive policing from reactive policing. He said that in the last six months, the police has taken strict and continuous action against Naxal activities. By killing four hardcore Naxalites, Naxal activities have been controlled to a great extent. Governor Shri Patel said that the state police has also taken effective action to strictly suppress anti-social elements, anti-national forces and to stop illegal transportation of cows.
