PM Modi’s new free electricity scheme, every house will get free electricity

PM Surya Ghar – Free Electricity Scheme has been launched by PM Modi. This is PM Modi’s dream project, which has been started under the Ministry of New and Renewal Energy. In this, free electricity will be provided to every house. This scheme was launched by PM Modi on 15 February 2024. Rural people are expected to benefit greatly from this.

What is PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana?
This is a subsidy scheme, in which subsidy will be given on installing solar panels on the roof of the house. This subsidy will be 40 percent. 1 crore houses are expected to benefit from this. Under this scheme the government will spend Rs 75,000 crore every year.

What is the ideal size for whom?
If your monthly electricity expenditure is 150 units, then you should install 1 to 2 kW solar panel. For this the government will give subsidy of Rs 30 thousand to Rs 60 thousand.
If the monthly electricity expenditure is 150 to 300 units, the government will give 60 to 78 thousand rupees for installing 2 to 3 kw solar panels.
If the monthly consumption is more than 300 units, then 3 kW solar panel will have to be installed. For this the government will give 78 thousand rupees.

How to apply online
Step 1: Go to the official website.
Step 2: Enter state, electricity distribution company, electricity bill number, mobile number, email for registration.
Step 3: Login with mobile and consumer number.
Step 4: Fill its cloud online application.
Step 5: Wait for approval from Discom.
Step 6: After approval, get solar panels installed from Discom’s registered vendor.
Step-7: After installation, enter plant details and apply for net meter.
Step-8: After net meter installation and Discom verification, the commissioning certificate will be generated from the portal.
Step-9: After this submit the bank details and canceled check on the portal.
Step 10: Subsidy will be received in the bank account within 30 days.
