Planning for the development of Bhopal @ 2047 should be done with the preservation of heritage: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal:  Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that proper planning of Bhopal’s development should be done along with the preservation of heritage. Making Bhopal’s rich past a part of the city’s planning, a gate will be built in memory of Raj Bhoj on the road going to Bhojpur and a gate dedicated to Emperor Vikramaditya on the road going towards Ujjain. Soon, the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of both these gates will be done. It is necessary to think about the development of Bhopal @ 2047 with a view to reflecting the glimpse of different regions of the state in the capital. Along with this, with the aim of developing Bhopal as a metropolitan area , an action plan should be made by developing a network of transport to Agra-Mumbai Road in the west and Vidisha, Raisen and Sehore. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave these instructions while reviewing the development works of Bhopal district in the ministry. Minister in charge of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and District, Shri Chaitanya Kashyap, Sports and Youth Welfare and Cooperation Minister Shri Vishwas Sarang, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare, Smt. Krishna Gaur and Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain were present in the meeting. Public representatives thanked Chief Minister Dr. Yadav for removing the BRTS corridor from Bhopal. He said that this has reduced road accidents in Bhopal.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Global Investors Summit has established Bhopal as an important centre of industry and trade. Activities are continuously expanding in the field of education, medical, tourism, industry etc. The plan should be implemented in totality by establishing interlinkage of means of road transport and metro facility for movement in Bhopal. Transport infrastructure should be built while ensuring multipurpose use. Suggestions of public representatives must be included in the planning of routes. While ensuring the use of satellite survey in the planning of the city, the construction of illegal settlements should also be monitored. Installing CCTV cameras should be made mandatory in approved colonies. Regarding permission for construction of high-rise buildings in Bhopal city, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the rules applicable in the state in this regard should be ensured to be implemented in Bhopal as well.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that it is necessary to ensure that the residential facilities developed with the aim of making the city slum free are not rented out. He said that one should be cautious regarding the construction of illegal colonies and slums, if such activities take place in the concerned area, the revenue and municipal corporation officers of that area will be directly responsible. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed the officials to take immediate action regarding land management of BHEL area. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave instructions to install solar panels on all government buildings in Bhopal on priority. He said that work should be done with the aim that the capital Bhopal presents an ideal before the country in the use of solar energy. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also gave instructions to establish an effective police system while controlling anti-social elements in Bhopal district and to present an example of smart policing by ensuring better traffic system.

It was informed in the meeting that metro work is in progress on two corridors of AIIMS to Karond Square and Bhadbhada Square to Ratnagiri Tiraha road in Bhopal. There has been an in-principle agreement between the Heavy Industries Ministry of the Government of India and the Urban Administration Department of the state regarding the use of BHEL’s land on 50-50 model for the development of the city and in the interest of BHEL. It was told in the meeting that in view of the continuous demand of industries in Acharpura area, an industrial area is being developed on 31.21 hectares of land in village Hajjampura at a cost of Rs 32.29 crore. Similarly, there is a plan to develop a readymade garment hosiery park on 69.91 hectares of land in village Satgarhi of Kolar area. Mayor Mrs. Malti Rai, MLA Mr. Rameshwar Sharma, Mr. Bhagwan Das Sabnani and Mr. Vishnu Khatri along with senior officials were present in the meeting.
