Amid fears of recession in the US, the Indian stock market fell by 2,600 points during early trade on Monday. At the same time, Nifty went below 24000 due to the fall in heavyweight stocks. During this, the market capitalization of companies listed on the BSE fell by Rs 17 lakh crore to Rs 440.16 lakh crore.
Amid heavy selling in the global market, there was a panic in the Indian stock market on Monday morning and the Sensex fell 2,686.09 points from its previous closing of 80,981.95 to a low of 78,295.86. During early trade, Titan shares fell by up to 9%.
Investors lost Rs 10 lakh crore in early trade
Meanwhile, the market capitalization of all listed companies on the BSE fell by Rs 10.24 lakh crore to Rs 446.92 lakh crore. The rupee hit an all-time low of 83.7525 on Monday.
