On the strength of the charismatic bowling of spinners Noman Ali and Sajid Khan, Pakistan defeated England by nine wickets in the third and final Test match and won the three-match Test series 2-1. Pakistan won the Test series from England after nine years
Pakistan has won the Test series from England after nine years. Earlier, Pakistan had last defeated England in a Test series in November 2015. Pakistan had to face defeat in the first match played in Multan, after which the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made a big change in the team for the remaining two matches. The PCB selectors had left out veteran players like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah from the remaining two matches against England. Pakistan got the benefit of this and the team made a great comeback after losing the first Test and managed to win the series. Pakistan has managed to bounce back after losing the first match of a three-match Test series against Zimbabwe for the second time since 1995.
