Ownership plan will empower villages and poor, journey towards developed India will be pleasant

Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the Swamitva Yojana will empower villages and the poor and the journey towards developed India will be pleasant. In the last 5 years, 1.5 crore villagers in India have been given property cards for their property. Today, more than 65 lakh beneficiaries are being given property cards. Thus, about 2.25 crore villagers of the country have received a permanent legal document for their house. Today is a very historic day for India’s rural economy.
Prime Minister Modi on Saturday launched the e-distribution program of property rights certificates to the beneficiaries under the Swamitva Yojana from Delhi and distributed 65 lakh property cards in more than 50 thousand villages across the country, which includes 15 lakh 63 thousand beneficiaries of Madhya Pradesh. The Prime Minister also interacted with the beneficiaries of the scheme. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav joined the program from Seoni district.
Prime Minister Modi said that according to a survey of the United Nations, along with the challenges of climate change, water problem, health problem and epidemic, property rights are a big challenge of the 21st century. In many countries of the world, the poor do not have property rights. Economists say that due to lack of property rights, they have “dead capital”. They cannot do any transaction on it, no economic activity is possible. There is always a danger of dispute over the ownership of the house and encroachment by the powerful. Through the ownership scheme, we have found a solution to this challenge.
Prime Minister Modi said that the previous governments did not find any concrete solution to this problem. When our government was formed in the year 2014, we started this scheme. Mapping of lands was done through drones and property papers of the poor were prepared. There are about 6 lakh villages in the country, drone survey of more than half of these villages has been completed. Two and a quarter crore villagers have got property cards. This will give new impetus to the country’s economy. The way will open for economic activities worth more than Rs 100 lakh crore.
Prime Minister Modi said that the Swamitva Yojana is an important step towards realising the dreams of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi of Gram Swaraj. With the poor getting property rights, Gram Panchayats will be economically empowered and Gram Swaraj will come on the ground. There will also be better management of various disasters and villagers will get timely claims.
Prime Minister Modi said that our India resides in villages. Development of villages is development of the country. Swamitva Yojana and Bhu-Aadhar will become the basis of village development. 23 crore Bhu-Aadhar numbers have been issued in the country. Digitization of land records is being done.
Prime Minister Modi said that women power has an important role in building a developed India. Schemes like Bank Sakhi, Bima Sakhi, Lakhpati Didi, Drone Didi etc. are important steps towards women empowerment. More than 1.25 crore Lakhpati Didis have been created in the country. In many states, names of wives are also included in the property rights papers under the ownership scheme. Names of women have also been included in the registry of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
