Out of the 31 Maoists killed in the National Park area encounter, 05 Maoists have been identified so far

National Park Encounter District – Bijapur (CG) Date 10/02/2025: Out of 31 Maoists killed in the National Park Area encounter, 05 Maoists have been identified so far. The remaining killed Maoists are being identified. With the killing of notorious and dreaded Maoist West Bastar Division Secretary DVCM Hunga Karma & PLGA Platoon No. 11 Commander Mangu Hemla & other violent Maoists, the people of the area got a big relief from Naxal terror. A large quantity of AK 47, SLR, INSAS Rifle, .303 Rifle, Rocket Launcher, BGL Launcher weapons and explosive materials were recovered from the encounter site. Director General of Police Chhattisgarh Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police Bastar Range Sundarraj P., Inspector General CRPF Rakesh Agarwal and other officers inspected the arms, ammunition, Maoist literature and other items recovered from the encounter site in Bijapur. Head Constable Naresh Dhruv of DRG Bijapur and STF R Basit Raote were martyred while fighting bravely in the Maoist encounter. The bodies of the martyred jawans were brought to the district headquarters, tributes were paid to the martyred jawans at Shaheed Vatika located in the new police line.
Director General of Police Chhattisgarh Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police Bastar Range Sundarraj P., Inspector General CRPF Rakesh Agarwal, Former Minister Mahesh Gagda, MLA Bijapur Vikram Mandavi, Collector Bijapur Sambit Mishra, Deputy Inspector General of Police Dantewada Range Kamalochan Kashyap, Superintendent of Police Bijapur Dr Jitendra Kumar Yadav, Superintendent of Police STF Vijay Pandey, family members of the martyrs and public representatives gave a “Guard of Honour” to the soldiers martyred in the police-Maoist encounter in the National Park area on 09.02.2025 at 11.00 am today on 10.02.2025 at the Protected Center Bijapur. Two soldiers injured in the incident were airlifted by the Indian Air Force. The condition of the injured soldiers is out of danger and better treatment is going on in Raipur. Superintendent of Police Bijapur Dr. Jitendra Kumar Yadav has given information regarding the encounter and informed that in the Annpur-Tekameta forest area of Pharsegarh police station of Bijapur district, DVCM Hunga Karma, TSC SZCM Bandi Prakash, Bhaskar and Maddeed / National Park Area Committee’s ACM Buchanna, PLGA Platoon No. 11 Commander Mangu Hemla, ACM Subhash Oyam, ACM Sannu, ACM Krishna, ACM Ajit, on the intelligence of the presence of 40-45 armed Maoists, a joint team of DRG Bijapur and STF went on an operation against the Maoists. During the operation, on 09/02/2025 at around 08:00 am, an encounter started between the joint party of DRG, STF and Bastar Fighter and the Maoists in the middle of the jungle hill of Maddeed – Farsegarh border area, which continued intermittently till 3-4 pm. A huge quantity of weapons, explosives and Maoist material has been recovered from the spot. After the end of the encounter, when all the teams conducted a search, bodies of 31 hardcore uniformed Maoists, including 11 women and 20 men, were recovered along with weapons and material. Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, Sundarraj P. told that out of the 31 Maoists killed in the National Park Area encounter, only 05 Maoists have been identified so far. The rest of the killed Maoists are being identified.

SLR rifle 01 piece, 02 magazines, 06 cartridges 03. 01 INSAS rifle, 01 magazine 04. 01 piece of 303 rifle, 01 magazine, 02 pieces of cartridges 05. 01 piece of 315 bore rifle, 30 pieces of cartridges 06. 08 pieces of 12 bore gun 07. 01 piece of BGL Rocket launcher with big stand, 04 pieces of BGL cell 08. 06 pieces of BGL launcher, 14 pieces of cell 09. 04 pieces of Muzzle Loading rifle 10. 09 pieces of IED (Improvised Explosive Devices) 11. Laser printer, huge quantity of explosive material, Maoist uniform, Maoist literature, medicines and daily use items recovered.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Dantewada Range, Kamalochan Kashyap informed that the bodies of DRG Head Constable Naresh Dhruv, resident of Balodabazar and STF Constable Basit Raote, resident of Fagundah, Police Station Dodi-Lohara, District Balod, who were martyred in the encounter, were brought to the district headquarters in Bijapur. Thereafter, at around 11:45 AM, the body was sent with full respect via helicopter to the home district Baloda Bazar & Balod.
DRG constable Jaggu Kalmu and STF constable Gulab Mandavi, injured in the encounter, were airlifted by the Indian Air Force. The condition of both the injured soldiers is out of danger and better treatment is going on in Raipur. Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, Sundarraj P. informed that maintaining the lead gained in the anti-Naxal campaign in the year 2024, in the year 2025 also, as a result of effective anti-Naxal operations conducted by the security forces under Bastar Division against the banned and illegal CPI Maoist organization, a total of 65 bodies of hardcore Maoists were recovered in the Bastar Range in the last 40 days. Particularly in Bijapur district, a total of 56 bodies of hardcore Maoists were recovered in the last 40 days. As per the intention of the government and the wishes of the public, under the guidance of the Police Headquarters, DRG/STF/CoBRA/CRPF/BSF/ITBP/CAF/ Bastar Fighters & all other security force members deployed in Bastar Range are dedicatedly working for the peace, security and development of the Bastar region with strong morale and clear goals. The banned and illegal CPI Maoist organization now has no other option but to surrender and give up violence, so the Maoist organization is appealed to immediately stop violent activities. Leave them and join the mainstream of society, otherwise be ready to face the consequences. Superintendent of Police Bijapur Dr Jitendra Kumar Yadav has informed that in view of the possibility of many more Maoists being killed or injured due to blood stains and dragging marks at the site of the encounter, a search operation is underway in the nearby area by DRG/STF/Bastar Fighters/CRPF forces.
