Inauguration of pharmaceutical unit is an important step in the industrial development of the state
Raipur 19 July 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today inaugurated the newly constructed unit of Aspire Pharmaceuticals located at Sector-05 of Nava Raipur. On this occasion, he congratulated the management and visited the production unit and observed the entire process of drug manufacturing. Chief Minister Sai said that in view of the shortage of medicines during the difficult period of Covid, the dream of building this unit was seen and today it has come true. He said that when the whole world was struggling with the crisis of Covid, India set an example by developing indigenous vaccine. Sai said that the launch of the unit of pharmaceuticals is an important step towards the industrial development of the state. Chief Minister Sai said that the new industrial policy of Chhattisgarh is attracting investors and in the last seven-eight months, investment proposals of more than Rs 6 lakh crore have been received, out of which work has started on many projects. He said that the state government is working to generate maximum employment through industrial units and such units are also being given special incentives.
Chief Minister Sai said that Chhattisgarh has entered the silver jubilee year today, and the contribution of former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh is incomparable in the development that has taken place in these 25 years. He said that Dr. Singh not only removed hunger from the state, but also laid a solid foundation in the field of health, education and infrastructure. Mentioning the achievements in the health sector, the Chief Minister said that at the time of formation of the state, there was only one medical college in the state, whereas today 15 medical colleges are operating in the state. People are getting free treatment in the state through Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme. Sai said that in the last one and a half year, I have witnessed the launch of more than six specialist hospitals, which shows that health facilities are continuously expanding in the state. He said that our Prime Minister Modi believes that people should not fall ill, they should remain healthy, and in accordance with his concept, people are getting health through the Wellness Centre.
Chief Minister Sai said that the government has prepared a vision document under the concept of “Developed Chhattisgarh 2047”. He said that at present the Gross State Product (GSDP) of the state is ₹ 5 lakh crore, which has been targeted to reach ₹ 10 lakh crore by 2030 and ₹ 75 lakh crore by 2047, and this will be possible only with the cooperation of the people of the state. Chief Minister Sai visited Aspire Pharmaceuticals on this occasion and appreciated the advanced technologies. He said that this unit is fully automated, where various types of medicines like tablets, syrups, ointments and creams will be manufactured. He said that the expansion of this unit will provide employment to a large number of local youth. Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that this is an important and inspiring beginning in the pharmaceutical sector of the state. He said that India has made its special identity in this field and during the Covid period the whole world realized the importance of medicines and medical resources. He said that developed countries like America and Europe also expressed confidence in India’s pharma potential at that time. He further said that recently a vision document has been issued, taking a step towards realizing the concept of developed Chhattisgarh, which will take the state to new heights in the coming years.
The Assembly Speaker said that Nava Raipur has a central role in the industrial development of the state. This area is not only suitable for industrial investment, but is also very convenient from the point of view of logistics due to connectivity to all major routes. Dr. Singh congratulated the team of Aspire Pharmaceuticals for this new beginning and said that this unit will give new impetus to the development of Nava Raipur.
