Our culture is nourished by arts and art practitioners: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that arts speak for themselves. It is also expressed through our behavior and emotions. Madhya Pradesh is the land of arts. Many world-renowned art connoisseurs have come from here. Our culture is nourished and flourished by arts and artists. Bharat Bhavan has a major role in getting Madhya Pradesh the recognition of art pride place in the world. We all are witnesses to a glorious past of Bharat Bhavan. Today we are very proud to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Bharat Bhavan. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was addressing the State Shikhar Samman ceremony from the open air stage of Bharat Bhavan on Thursday. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave a new identity to the cultural heritage of Madhya Pradesh and presented the State Shikhar Samman for the year 2022 and 2023. On this occasion, 15 art connoisseurs were decorated with shawl, coconut, honor plaque and honor money of two lakh rupees for their very special contribution. In the ceremony, artists, litterateurs and theatre workers who contributed in the field of music, dance, drama, tribal and folk art, literature and theatre were honoured with Shikhar Samman.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, while congratulating all the art personalities honoured with the State Shikhar Samman, said that the government is constantly making efforts to take forward the cultural heritage of Madhya Pradesh. Artists are the soul of our society and their respect is our priority. We ourselves are honoured by the respect of art. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav made the 43rd Foundation Day of Bharat Bhavan special by making an important announcement of restarting the Rangmandal here. The Chief Minister said that the return of Rangmandal will bring a new joy not only to the theatre but to the entire art world. All theatre lovers and artists welcomed this announcement of the Chief Minister with great joy because the return of Rangmandal is no less than a festival for them. Bharat Bhavan’s Rangmandal was a major platform for the theatre artists and drama lovers of the state for years, now it is going to come alive again. With its return, young theatre artists will get new opportunities and theatre will also get a new energy. The cultural heritage of the state will be even more enriched with the restoration of Rangmandal.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture, Tourism, Religious Trusts and Endowments, Shri Dharmendra Singh Lodhi said that Bharat Bhavan has been the center of our art faith. Through this building, Madhya Pradesh is not only preserving its roots with the renaissance of art and culture, but is also empowering the future new art generation. He congratulated all the honored dignitaries.
Bharat Bhavan’s Trustee Chairman Shri Vaman Kendre said that Bharat Bhavan is a confluence of all art forms. Various art and cultural activities have been conducted from here for centuries. Bharat Bhavan’s role in getting Bhopal the status of the country’s major cultural center has been undoubtedly commendable.
Principal Secretary Culture and Tourism and Trustee Secretary of Bharat Bhavan, Shri Shivshekhar Shukla, referring to the 43-year long journey of art practice of Bharat Bhavan, said that we are proud to honour the art personalities who spread love for art in our hearts. Bharat Bhavan is an excellent centre of integrated arts. It is a unique and unparalleled art centre of the country in the field of promotion of arts and encouragement of artists.
Director Culture Shri N.P. Namdev read out the eulogies of all the art connoisseurs who were honoured with the State Shikhar Samman. On this occasion, a large number of art lovers, theatre artists and intellectuals were present, including all the trustees of Bharat Bhavan. At the end of the programme, the Chief Minister also visited the art exhibition organised in the Bharat Bhavan premises.
15 art experts in 9 disciplines received Rajya Shikhar Samman
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav presented the State Shikhar Samman for the year 2022 and 2023 to 15 art experts who have excelled in various art fields. In the ceremony, Dr. Urmila Shirish (Bhopal) was given the Shikhar Samman for the year 2022 for Hindi literature. Shri Mahmood Ahmed Sahar (Ujjain) was given the Shikhar Samman for the year 2023 for Urdu literature. Dr. Mithila Prasad Tripathi (Indore) was given the Shikhar Samman for the year 2022 for Sanskrit literature and Dr. Govind Dattatreya Gandhe (Ujjain) was given the Shikhar Samman for the year 2023 for Sanskrit literature.
In the same sequence, Vidushi Kalpana Jhokarkar (Indore) was awarded the Shikhar Samman for the year 2022 for classical music and Vidushi Shashwati Mandal (Delhi) was awarded the Shikhar Samman for the year 2023 for classical music. Ms. Mohini Moghe Poochwale (Jabalpur) was awarded the Shikhar Samman for the year 2022 for classical dance and Vidushi Bharti Hombal (Bhopal) was awarded the Shikhar Samman for the year 2023 for classical dance. In the Rupankar Arts category, Shri Ishwari Rawal (Indore) was awarded the Shikhar Samman for the year 2022 and in the same category, Shri Hari Bhatnagar (Jabalpur) was awarded the Shikhar Samman for the year 2023. Shri Shriram Jog (Indore) was awarded the Shikhar Samman for the year 2022 for dramatic arts and in the same arts category, Shri Satish Dave (Ujjain) was awarded the Shikhar Samman for the year 2023. In the tribal and folk arts category, Shri Ramsingh Urveti (Patangarh) was awarded the Rajya Shikhar Samman for the year 2022 and in the same category, Shri Kailash Sisodia (Dhar) was awarded the Rajya Shikhar Samman for the year 2023. In the rare instrument playing category, Pandit Sunil Pawagi (Gwalior) was awarded the Shikhar Samman for the year 2023.
