Operation of record number of additional trains in summer
To ensure passenger convenience and manage the expected increase in travel demand during summer, Indian Railways is operating a record 9111 trips during the summer season.
This represents a substantial increase compared to summer 2023, where a total of 6369 trips were offered. This represents an increase of 2742 trips, demonstrating Indian Railways’ commitment to effectively meet passenger demands.
The additional trains have been carefully planned to connect major destinations across the country to ensure seamless travel on major rail routes. All zonal railways will reduce the rush of passengers during summer season across the country from states like Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi. Preparations have been made to operate these additional trips.
