One year of free food distribution service in Raipur, social workers to be honored
Raipur. The unique initiative of free food distribution service being run by Shri Vimalnath Jain Shwetambar Temple Trust and Shri Nakoda Bhairav Society Raipur for the last one year is getting wide appreciation in the society. Under this scheme, free food is being provided to the relatives of patients admitted in various hospitals of the city. The felicitation ceremony of philanthropists, institutions and women’s groups contributing to this service will be organized on Sunday, November 10 at Shri Heersuri Aradhana Bhavan, Raipur.
The chief guest of this program will be Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, and other special guests will include Minister Lakhan Dewangan, former minister and MLA Rajesh Munat, former Assembly Speaker Dharamlal Kaushik and MLA Motilal Sahu. Social workers Trilok Bardia, Pukhraj Munot, Gajraj Pagaria, Gulab Malu and Abhay Bhansali will be specially present in the function.
Inspiration and expansion of service
The inspiration for this free food service came from late Devraj Sonigra. Trust’s patron Roopchand Lalwani, President Subhash Kochar and other trustees Suresh Bagmar, Dhanraj Baid, Mikin Munot etc. have also been continuously supporting this service. Their dedication towards service and the response of the society is opening new possibilities towards the expansion of this scheme.
Cooperation of 300 families, more than 1.3 lakh beneficiaries
Shri Vimalnath Jain Shwetambar Jain Mandir Trust started this free food distribution scheme on 4 June 2022. Initially started with the cooperation of four families, this scheme is now being operated with the cooperation of more than 300 families. Under this scheme, food is delivered to Sanjeevani Cancer Hospital and MMI Hospital through e-rickshaws every day between 12 noon to 1 pm. In the last 28 months, pure and satvik food has been provided to more than 1,30,000 people.
