On Hareli Tihar, a special event will be organized with traditional gaiety at the Chief Minister’s residence today

Raipur, 24 July 2025: Hareli Tihar, the main folk festival associated with the cultural soul and agricultural tradition of Chhattisgarh, will be celebrated traditionally and cheerfully at the Chief Minister’s residence on 24 July this year. In this special event organized by the Culture Department of the Chhattisgarh Government, the various colors of folk life, cultural heritage and respect for farmers will be revealed in a lively form. For the organization of Hareli festival, the Chief Minister’s residence complex has been decorated with the colors of Chhattisgarhi folk culture. The real soul of Hareli can be experienced in this environment rich with traditional arches, gates decorated with greenery and rural craftsmanship. In the event, folk artists from various regions of Chhattisgarh will give presentations of folk dances like Geddi dance, Raut Nacha etc. Sawan swing and Savanahi Ramayana recitation will be the center of attraction for the audience amidst the showers of Sawan. This program will not only be a cultural event, but it will also be a live celebration of the folk sentiment and traditional heritage of the state.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai will join this event and worship agricultural machinery and tools, which has been the main tradition of Hareli festival. A detailed exhibition of traditional to modern machinery will also be organized, which will introduce the new generation to the agricultural traditions and mechanical progress of Chhattisgarh. Traditional games and folk art exhibitions are also being organized for children in the program. This time Hareli Tihar will not be presented as just a festival but as a union of environment, tradition and progress. Chief Minister Sai, while wishing the people of the state on Hareli, said that Hareli festival is not only a celebration of farming and greenery, but also a celebration of our folk life, tradition and coexistence with nature.
