Now the metro will reach Karond. A flyover will be built at Karond Square. A 6 lane road will be built from Airport Road to Ratnagiri. A three-tier transportation system will be built in Karond, in which the metro will run on top, a flyover in the middle and a service road will pass below. Cooperatives, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang on Wednesday inspected the site of the metro station to be built at Karond Square under Narela Assembly. Under the first phase of Bhopal Metro Project, the work of building a metro station and route at Karond Square has started under the Orange Line Corridor of about 30 km route. Minister Mr. Sarang said that the work of construction of metro station in Karond is in progress. At the same time, the work of flyover construction is going to start soon by NHAI. This will create a three-tier transportation system at Karond Square. During the inspection, Minister Shri Sarang held a meeting of the coordination committee of the Metro project, all the concerned departments, National Highway, PWD, Municipal Corporation, Traffic Police, Central Region Electricity Distribution Company and District Administration and directed to remove the obstacles coming in the way of construction work.
Construction work will be completed in 4 years
Minister Shri Sarang said that about 30 km route is proposed under the first phase of Bhopal Metro Project, in which the Orange Line corridor will be about 16 km from Karond to AIIMS. It will have 2 underground stations (Bhopal Junction and Nadra Bus Stand) and 14 elevated stations. Now the work of laying the metro line from Karond has started. He said that along with this, NHAI is to construct a 6-lane road from Ayodhya Airport to Ratnagiri. At the same time, a flyover is proposed by NHAI at Karond intersection. This construction work will be completed in 4 years. To ensure that there is no delay in both the Metro and NHAI projects and passengers have ease of movement during construction, coordination teams of Metro project, NHAI, PWD, Municipal Corporation, Traffic and District Administration will be formed and coordination will be established among all departments.
Resolve obstacles by holding a coordination committee meeting
Minister Shri Sarang observed the alignment of the Metro train and the proposed flyover at Karond Square and directed the concerned officials to start the implementation of the scheme immediately. The officials of the Metro project should coordinate with all the concerned departments, National Highway, PWD, Municipal Corporation, Traffic Police, Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company and District Administration and start the work soon and if any kind of problem arises, contact me and hold a coordination committee meeting from time to time to accelerate the pace of work and resolve the obstacles.
5 lakh population will benefit from the flyover at Karond Square
Minister Shri Sarang said that about 4 lakh population will benefit from this project. To solve the problem of traffic jam at Karond intersection, construction of a flyover of about 2 km length is also being started. The metro line will pass over this flyover, in which there will be no pillars of flyover and metro in the entire intersection and this intersection will also be developed in an excellent manner. He said that with the development of the intersection, three subways are also being constructed under this scheme, so that pedestrians do not face any inconvenience in crossing the intersection and can easily reach the metro station.
Continuous work is being done towards making Karond a suburb
Minister Shri Sarang said that Bhopal Metro is a big gift for Narela Assembly. It will bring a big change in the entire economy of Bhopal. He said that continuous work is being done towards establishing Karond as a suburb of Bhopal. Work is being done to develop Karond intersection as a world class intersection. After the completion of metro and flyover work, Karond will be established as the most organized area of Bhopal.
Soil testing work is being done on the elevated corridor between Subhash Nagar and Karond station
The Orange Line will be about 16 km from Karond to AIIMS. It will have 2 underground stations (Bhopal Junction and Nadra Bus Stand) and 14 elevated stations. Soil testing work is being done on the elevated corridor between Subhash Nagar and Karond station on the Orange Line and other works will be started soon, in which the work of 17 meter pier will be started soon.
