Anyway, Poonam, who was helpless due to extreme helplessness and helpless life, could not find a place anywhere, so she joined a self-help group of Rashtriya Gramin Ajeevika Mission. From here, a new light of hope started coming in her life. Bad days ended and good days arrived. Full of new energy, Poonam has now become completely self-reliant.
The life of farmer Didi Poonam Mahajan, who lives in Sangrampur village of Burhanpur district, was going through a difficult phase at one time. She did not like farming. But she was not able to see any way anywhere. Despite facing daily challenges, Poonam never gave up.
When Poonam could not find a place anywhere, she joined a self-help group formed under the National Rural Livelihood Mission. Joining the group proved to be a turning point in her life. The aim of the mission was to make the rural people financially self-reliant. Now Poonam started seeing a new path in life here.
Poonam tells that before joining the group, she used to do farming. Now, along with sewing and embroidery, she also runs a beauty parlor. Apart from this, she also runs a saree center. She tells that after joining the group, she was given training. Under the Customer Identification File (CIF), she started sewing work with Rs 10,000. This increased her income. Now she earns about 15 to 20 thousand rupees every month. She says that the government is running many schemes to make women empowered and self-reliant. Women are also being encouraged to move forward.
Now Poonam is not only taking care of her family but is also saving money. Poonam’s work has become an inspiration for the entire village and her hard work and dedication has given them a new life. Poonam’s story of struggle tells us that no matter how difficult the circumstances are, life always finds a new way.
