Now Deepotsav will be celebrated for two days in Uttarakhand
In Uttarakhand also, 1st November has been declared as a public holiday on Diwali. Due to two dates on Diwali, there is a situation of confusion. 31st October was already declared a public holiday, but there was a demand to declare 1st November as a public holiday as well. After which today the state government has issued an order to declare 1st November as a public holiday.
There is a lot of confusion in Uttarakhand on which day to do Deepawali Puja and Deepdaan. Astrologers of Panchpuri Haridwar believe that Pradosh Kaal, Nishith Kaal, Maha Nishith Kaal and Swati Nakshatra are available only on the night of 31st October for Deepawali Puja. Therefore, Deepawali should be celebrated on 31st. At the same time, Deepawali will be celebrated on 1st November in Chardham.
Amavasya in Pradosh Kaal also at the time of sunset
Ganga all have also released Panchang to celebrate Deepawali on 1st November. Ganga Sabha believes that if there is Amavasya for two days, then Deepawali Puja and Maa Lakshmi Puja should be done on the second day. Amavasya is there at sunrise on one date and Amavasya is there at Pradosh Kaal at sunset. Therefore, Deepawali should be celebrated on 1st November.
According to the belief, the festival of Deepawali is connected to two events of Satya Yug and then Treta Yug. In Satyug, Mahalakshmi appeared from Samudra Manthan on Kartik Krishna Amavasya. Lakshmi Puja has been happening since Satyug.
