Notification issued for Raipur Lok Sabha elections, nominations will be taken till April 19
Raipur. Returning Officer and Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh has issued the notification for Raipur Lok Sabha elections at 11 am today. Along with this, the process of election of Lok Sabha member from Raipur region has also started. The notification has been issued in two languages, Hindi and English, and has also been made public on the notice boards of the offices of the Returning Officer and all Assistant Returning Officers. Nomination of candidates contesting the elections has also started from today itself. Candidates contesting the elections will be able to submit their nominations before the Returning Officer or Assistant Returning Officer till 19th April. Candidates can submit their papers in Collectorate’s Room No. 2, Collectorate Court, from 11 am to 3 pm. Nomination will not be taken on government holidays. The candidate can submit nomination for election himself or through one of his proposers. Nomination letter formats can also be obtained from Room No. 2 of the Collector’s office.
According to the notification issued from the Returning Officer’s office, the scrutiny of nomination papers received within the stipulated time till April 19 will be done on April 20. The candidate will be able to withdraw his name on written notice by himself or through any of his proposers or through his election agent as declared by written letter. The last date for withdrawal of nominations has been fixed as April 22 and the time is till 3 pm. The final list of candidates contesting the elections will also be released on the same day. Voting for the election of Lok Sabha member of Raipur Lok Sabha constituency will be held on Tuesday, May 7 from 7 am to 6 pm at the polling centers set up in all the 9 assembly constituencies.
