The dates of the budget session have been announced. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the full budget for the financial year 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha on July 23. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has announced the dates of the budget session by posting on X. He informed that the upcoming budget session will commence on July 22. It will run till August 12. During this, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the full budget in Parliament on July 23. Earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the interim budget on February 1 before the Lok Sabha elections. Finance Minister Sitharaman will present the seventh consecutive budget on July 23.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget for the seventh consecutive time. This budget will determine the priority of the third government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the direction of developed India. Finance Minister Sitharaman presented the interim budget in the Lok Sabha on 1 February 2024. On July 23, Sitharaman will create a new record by presenting the seventh consecutive budget. Earlier, former Prime Minister Morarji Desai had presented the budget six times in a row while being the Finance Minister. Nirmala Sitharaman took charge of the Finance Ministry last month for the second consecutive term.
Sitharaman also holds the record of becoming the first full-time woman Finance Minister
Sitharaman also holds the record of becoming the first woman to join the Modi government as a minister for the third consecutive term. In her political career, she achieved many major achievements. In 2017, she became the first woman Defense Minister. Prior to this, she was the Minister of Industry and Commerce. Sitharaman took charge of the Finance Department in the newly elected Modi government after the 2019 general elections when Arun Jaitley (Finance Minister 2014-19) fell ill.
She became the first full-time woman Finance Minister in independent India. Earlier, Indira Gandhi had briefly held Finance as an additional portfolio while she was the Prime Minister of India. Sitharaman was born on 18 August 1959 in Madurai to Narayan Sitharaman and Savitri, who worked in the railways. Sitharaman has a master’s and MPhil in economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
