Nilkrishna Gajare, the son of a farmer from Maharashtra’s Washim, has achieved remarkable success by securing the top rank in the JEE Main 2024 exam. This examination is one of the most competitive engineering entrance tests in India, and Gajare’s achievement of a perfect score is impressive. Along with Dakshesh Sanjay Mishra and Aarav Bhatt, who secured AIR 2 and 3, Gajare’s achievement is noteworthy, among 56 students from across the country who achieved perfect scores.
Despite his rural background and limited resources, Gajare’s journey is a testament to hard work and determination. He moved from his village to Nagpur to attend coaching classes, understanding that a strong preparation strategy was crucial for success in JEE Main. His dedication was evident as he had previously scored an impressive 97% in his class 10 exams.
Gajare’s study strategy involved analyzing the test papers to identify weak areas and then focusing on them. He emphasized the importance of clear concepts, consistent revision, and repeated practice. According to him, “To clear an exam like JEE, it is very important to have clear concepts. Apart from this, I practise revision and questions more than once.”
When he started his preparation in class 11, the transition from class 10 was challenging because the syllabus for classes 11 and 12 is much more extensive. Despite initial struggles, Gajare remained consistent and didn’t give up. His advice to other students is to keep going despite difficulties, as consistent effort will lead to good results. As he mentioned, “If you ever face such difficulties where you feel like maybe you can’t do it or not, then keep your preparation going continuously. Good things are ahead.”
Gajare’s goal is to secure a seat in IIT Bombay for computer science, and he continues to prepare diligently for JEE Advanced. His advice to IIT-JEE aspirants is to set a clear target and maintain consistent preparation. He believes that studying with genuine interest is essential to avoid feeling burdened, and preparation should be steady and uninterrupted.
