New Year, Higher Flights: Prices Up 30%, But Destinations Still Packed

Raipur: Flight Fare Hike As we approach the New Year, more and more people are planning trips to popular destinations both within the country and abroad. This surge in travelers has led to increased crowds on flights. In fact, ticket prices have jumped by 30-35% due to the high demand from those celebrating the New Year. Popular Destinations: Flights to places like **Goa**, **Mumbai, **Delhi**, **Hyderabad**, **Prayagraj**, and Kolkata are fully booked. On the international front, there’s a significant rise in travelers heading to **Dubai, **Singapore**, **Vietnam**, and **Azerbaijan (Baku)**. According to Raman Jadavani, the president of the Travel Association Federation of India (TAFI) in Chhattisgarh, the number of people celebrating the New Year has increased by about **10%** compared to last year. The busiest booking period is from **December 29 to January 5, 2025**, with many families opting to travel together.

**Cruise Demand:** This year, there’s also a noticeable increase in demand for cruises. Many travelers from **Mumbai** prefer to take a cruise to **Dubai** for the New Year celebrations. Additionally, there’s a growing interest in cruises to **Goa**. Travel operators are providing information about these options, and many are also booking return tickets to **Mumbai** and **Goa** after the celebrations. Flights to Prayagraj:** With the upcoming Kumbh Mela and the influx of visitors to temples, flights between **Raipur** and **Prayagraj** are completely booked. If travelers can’t find tickets from Raipur, they are looking at options from **Bilaspur** and Ambikapur**. There’s even a waiting list for flights to Prayagraj in January due to the Kumbh.

Top Travel Destinations:** Currently, the most sought-after destinations include **Goa**, **Prayagraj**, Hyderabad**, **Delhi**, **Kolkata**, **Chennai**, and **Mumbai**, along with neighboring countries like **Bhutan** and **Nepal**, and popular international spots like **Australia**, **Bangkok**, **Dubai**, **London**, and **Singapore**. Andaman Demand:** Interestingly, there’s also a surprising rise in interest for trips to the **Andaman Islands**. Many travelers are looking to experience a Malaysia-like vibe at a lower cost, prompting inquiries and bookings for flights from **Mumbai** to the Andaman Islands. Travel operators report that this is the first time they’ve seen such a high volume of ticket bookings, including flights, cruises, and large steamers.Raipur Airport:** Over **40,000** people are expected to travel by air during the New Year period, with more than **50%** heading to destinations like **Goa**, **Udaipur**, **Jaipur**, **Kashmir**, **Hyderabad**, Kerala, and **Sikkim**. For those traveling abroad, visa facilitation camps are being set up to assist with the process.
