New trick of ATM thieves: Stuck the money and took it away themselves!-Thieves have adopted a new method in an IDBI Bank ATM in Raipur. More than six people’s money was stolen in two days. The thieves did something in the ATM machine that people’s money got stuck in the machine, but actually the money was deducted from their account. People thought that there was a problem in the machine, but actually this was a trick of the thieves.
New way of cheating by trapping notes-Investigation of the bank revealed that the thieves had pasted something in the part where money comes out of the ATM, due to which the notes get stuck inside. People thought that money did not come out, but actually money had been deducted from their account. When some people got suspicious, they complained to the bank, and then this whole matter came to light.
CCTV revealed the secret-The police have got the CCTV footage of the ATM in which a person is seen tampering with the machine and then withdrawing money. Police suspect that this person may be a member of a gang which may have come from Rajasthan or Uttar Pradesh.
UP gang at play again?-About six to eight months ago, two members of a gang from UP were caught doing similar theft in Raipur. At that time, they targeted ATMs in Amanaka, Saraswati Nagar and Kabir Nagar. This time too, the method is the same, so the police suspect that the same gang has become active again.
More people may become victims-So far, complaints have been registered against six people from whom a total of Rs 76,900 has been stolen. But the bank fears that more people may become victims who have not yet complained.
Police registered FIR, investigation started-On the complaint of the IDBI Bank manager, the police have registered a case and have started searching for the suspect. The police have also increased surveillance of all ATMs so that such incidents do not happen in future.
Lesson for customers-We learn from this incident that if money does not come out from the ATM, but money is deducted from the account, then immediately inform the bank and the police. Even a small negligence can become a big problem.
