National Games: Anushka Yadav Sets New Record in Hammer Throw
In a spectacular performance at the National Games, Uttar Pradesh’s Anushka Yadav set a new national record in the women’s hammer throw event. She shattered the previous record of 62.47 meters, which was set by Tanya Chaudhary in 2023, also from Uttar Pradesh. Anushka’s achievement once again highlights the state’s strong presence in Indian athletics.
Dev Kumar Meena Breaks Pole Vault Record
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh’s Dev Kumar Meena created history in pole vault by setting a new national record. He cleared a height of 5.32 meters, surpassing the previous record of 5.31 meters set by S. Siva in Gujarat in 2022. Speaking about his achievement, Dev said, “The journey to this national record has been a long one. My biggest support has been my family and coach. Coming from a farmer’s family, reaching this stage was a tough struggle. Today, I wanted to achieve something new, and I did just that by making history.”
