Naxalism will be completely eradicated by March 2026: Chief Minister Sai

Bastar is moving on the path of peace and development, the picture of villages has changed with the schemes of the government

Youth from remote villages of Bijapur reached the capital for the first time, shared their views with the Chief Minister after a cordial meeting

Raipur, 20 June 2025: With willpower, sensitivity and inclusive policy, we have started a new change in Bastar. The self-confidence of the youth of Bastar is our inspiration and together we will build a new Bastar. All of you have seen the capital Raipur for the first time, all of you are welcome here and may your journey be pleasant and memorable. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai was having a cordial dialogue with a group of 96 young men and women from Niyyad Nella Nar Gram Panchayats of the remote and Naxal-affected Bijapur district of the state at his residence today.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is opening new paths of peace and development in Naxal-affected areas through schemes like ‘Niyad Nella Nar’. He said that you are the future of Chhattisgarh and with the participation of all of you, we will take the Bastar region and the state forward. Sai said that while the picture of villages is changing by joining the ‘Niyad Nella Nar’ scheme, the youth are also getting self-reliance and a respectable life. The Chief Minister told the youth that our government is engaged in establishing peace in your area and Union Minister Amit Shah has resolved to root out Naxalism by March 2026. He said that Maoists do not want development in your area, but we will remove all the obstacles coming in the way of development. The morale of Bastar is giving us the energy to root out evils like Naxalism.

The Chief Minister said that your area, full of natural beauty, has dense forests, enchanting waterfalls and high mountains. The land there is fertile and good farming is done. Our government is working to provide water facilities to you to make farming prosperous. Sai said that all of you should promote farming and the students should get good education with full concentration. Your cooperation is very important for us in the development of the state. Referring to events like ‘Bastar Olympics’ and ‘Bastar Pandum’, he said that these are the expressions of the soul of Bastar. The participation of thousands of youth, women and children in these events has given the message to the world that Bastar is now moving towards a new era. We will continue to work together to preserve the art, culture and heritage of Bastar. Today the people of Bastar have shown that they want peace and development, not violence. He said that the land of Bastar has been a symbol of bravery, patience and self-respect and now we all together will take it forward on the path of development and prosperity. The Chief Minister said that through various schemes of the government, skill training, sports and education, the government is committed to giving a new opportunity to every youth. Sai called upon the youth to join the mainstream and become the carriers of change in the society and participate in the creation of a strong, safe and prosperous Bastar. The youth shared their views with the Chief Minister and said – “We will become a medium to change Bastar. The youth who reached the capital from remote villages of Bijapur district openly communicated with Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. The youth not only shared their experiences but also talked about their dreams and resolutions. They said that we want to make our lives better by following the path of education, sports, skill and service. Bastar has to change and we want to be a part of this change. The youth told that the ‘Niyad Nella Nar’ scheme has given them a new identity and direction. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam as well as senior officers were present.
