National Youth Day organized to honor the teachings and ideals of Swami Vivekananda

Raipur. A speech competition was organized on the occasion of ‘National Youth Day’, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, under the joint aegis of the Social Work Department, Education Department and Political Science Department of Shri Rawatpura Government University. The theme of which was ‘India of youth’s dreams’.

While addressing the National Youth Day, the Vice Chancellor presented his address keeping ‘Developed India@2047’ at the center. He told that India is progressing in every way. Be it in the field of education or technology, in order to grow, the youth will have to face many challenges, for which the youth will have to be prepared. So that in the coming times, we will be able to fulfill the goal of Developed India @ 2047 and get the true experience and enjoyment of Amrit Kaal.

Dr. Naresh Gautam, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, while introducing the topic, emphasized on the biography of Swami Vivekananda and his speech given in Chicago. He told that Swami Vivekananda needs to be seen not only from a religious perspective but also from a social perspective. The efforts he made to preserve and carry forward the traditional knowledge tradition of India.

The rules and program related to the speech competition were further coordinated by Dr. Ishwar Prasad Yadu and Shri Yogmoy Pradhan. Participants from more than 20 different departments of the university took part in this speech competition. Everyone drew attention towards fighting, growing and overcoming various immediate issues, challenges and social problems of the country including unemployment, frustration among youth, misuse of technology etc. The participant who got first place in this speech competition was Ishwar Sahu, B. Ed. First half, (Education Department). Whereas the second place participant Shivani Yadav, B. Ed. First half (Education Department) while the third prize winner was Ravidra Gupta B.Ed. First half, (Education Department). All the winners were honored with certificates and trophies by the Honorable Vice Chancellor. Professor Bharti Pujari (Department of Management), Dr. Manish Verma (Dean Arts) and Manoj Kumar (Deputy Registrar) were present in this competition as the jury.

Dr. Manish Pandey, Associate Professor and Chairman, Department of Political Science expressed his gratitude to everyone. Dean Academic Prof. R.R. L Birali, Principal of the Department of Education, Dr. Abhishek Srivastava, Chairperson of the Faculty of Sociology, Dr. Avadheshwari Bhagat, Chairperson of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Dr. Santosh Kumar, Chairperson of the Department of Social Work, Manisha Bose, Head of the Department of Sociology, Dr. Anjali Yadav, Department of Political Science. Sujata Ghosh, Head of Economics Department Dr. Pushpa Bharti and all the teachers of the university were present.

Vice Chancellor of Shri Rawatpura Government University, Harsh Gautam, while wishing everyone on National Youth Day, said that youth are the future of our country who will strengthen the foundation of developed India and appreciated all the winners and participants of the speech competition.
