The work of the tunnel being built for the visitors in Mahakal temple of Ujjain is almost completed. Let us tell you that lakhs of devotees are coming every day to the world famous Mahakal Temple of the country, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Not only this, after the formation of Mahakal Lok, the number of devotees here is quite large. Therefore, it has now become common for 4 to 5 lakh devotees to visit the temple every day on special festival or holiday occasions.
More than 10 lakh devotees have visited Mahakal this New Year, and what is more, according to the Mahakal Temple Management Committee, more than 15 lakh devotees are expected to come to Ujjain in the month of Sawan and on the occasion of Shivratri. Under this work, in view of the large crowd in Mahakal temple, the construction of tunnel was started for crowd control.
It will be easy to visit
The work on this tunnel built underground inside the Mahakal temple continued for more than 2 years. After which Moolchand Junwal, Assistant Administrator of Mahakal Temple, said that the work of the tunnel being built inside the temple has almost been completed. Now only cleaning work is left in the tunnel, which is going on. The temple management committee will make arrangements for lakhs of devotees to have darshan through this tunnel during Shivratri and Sawan. Also, if there is a large crowd of devotees even before Mahashivratri, then darshan can be done through the newly constructed tunnel.
Safety was taken care of
Let us tell you that fire safety has also been taken care of inside the tunnel. Along with this, lighting work has been done inside the tunnel. Apart from this, the entire tunnel has been made air-conditioned and organized. Along with public works, the work of the second phase of expansion and beautification of Mahakal Temple is going on continuously.
