National news : Passengers got confirmed tickets on Holi, hence Railways gave more than four and a half lakh additional seats.

Delhi. Keeping in mind the rush of passengers on the occasion of Holi festival, Indian Railways has made arrangements for 4.90 lakh additional seats. Railways is running 75 pairs of special trains between March 21 and 31, which will make 354 trips. Of these, 243 trips will be made to the east and 111 trips to other places. Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager of Northern Railway, gave this information.

Shobhan Chaudhuri said that this time the crowd of passengers on Holi is likely to be more than last year. This time 102 percent more rounds are being made as compared to last year.

Last year, on Holi, special trains made 175 trips. At the same time, this year 354 trips are being made including 72 trips of unreserved trains and 282 trips of reserved trains. Along with special trains, additional coaches have also been installed in already running trains. 66072 additional seats have become available.

Shobhan Chaudhuri said that additional trains will run if required and other trains will also be kept ready. These trains will be run as and when required. Last year, a total of 88 trips were made by special trains from Northern Railway, which has been increased to 140 this year. Similarly, last year, 87 trips were made by special trains from other railways, which has been increased to 214 this time. 92 trips will be made from Delhi by special trains.
