National news: MCD's first budget of Rs 16 thousand crore passed amid uproar
The first budget of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ruled corporation has been passed. This is the first budget presented by the Aam Aadmi Party in MCD. This is a budget of about Rs 16 thousand crores.
Mayor Shelly Oberoi held a press conference after the budget was passed and she said, “Aam Aadmi Party’s first budget was passed in MCD today. This is the budget for the year 2024-2025. The budget was approximately Rs 16 thousand crores. Congratulations to the businessmen, employees, officials, congratulations to the people of Delhi.”
The Mayor said that it takes a lot of will power to fulfill the promises we had made to the public. Whatever promises we had made to the public, we are fulfilling them due to which the image of our party is reaching a high level among the people of Delhi.
Let us inform that the Delhi Municipal Corporation House on Thursday passed the budget of Rs 16,683 crore for the financial year 2024-25 without voting amid allegations of corruption against the Mayor. MCD passed budget estimates for 2023-24 and 2024-25.
Shelly Oberoi said, “Our focus in this budget has been on cleanliness and infrastructure. For which purpose the Aam Aadmi Party government has come to MCD. Will fulfill every promise. “It will be spent on mechanical sweeping roads, artificial intelligence and education.” On the other hand, Leader of the House Mukesh Goyal said about the uproar, “The role of the opposition was played on 6th and 7th February in which they did not give any suggestion of their own and just created ruckus. If we had not passed the budget today, we would have found it difficult to pay salaries to our employees in a few days. We have kept the budget as per the instructions given by the Commissioner.”
