He said that he came to know about the disease on the very day the Aditya L-1 mission was launched. According to the report, Somnath says that this news came as a shock not only for him but also for the family. Last year, on August 23, Chandrayaan-3 created history by successfully landing on the Moon. Aditya L-1 mission was launched on September 2 last year. During that time, S Somnath was also examined and the scanning revealed some growth in the stomach. According to the report, as soon as the information was received, he left for Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, for further investigation. Here he was diagnosed with a hereditary disease.
