Delhi: ISRO i.e. Indian Space Research Organization Chief S Somnath is suffering from cancer. Recently, during an interview, he himself revealed this serious disease. He has informed that he came to know about cancer during the launch of Aditya-L1 mission itself. Not only this, it is being said that he started having health related problems during the historic Chandrayaan-3 mission itself. An India Today report quoted the interview as saying that Somnath’s further scans revealed the progression of the disease. ISRO Chief says, ‘There were some health related problems at the time of launch of Chandrayaan-3. However, till then the situation regarding this was not clear. Didn’t know anything then.
He said that he came to know about the disease on the very day the Aditya L-1 mission was launched. According to the report, Somnath says that this news came as a shock not only for him but also for the family. Last year, on August 23, Chandrayaan-3 created history by successfully landing on the Moon. Aditya L-1 mission was launched on September 2 last year. During that time, S Somnath was also examined and the scanning revealed some growth in the stomach. According to the report, as soon as the information was received, he left for Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, for further investigation. Here he was diagnosed with a hereditary disease. The news is that within a few days it became clear that he was seriously ill.
