National news: ED sent eighth summons to Kejriwal
The Enforcement Directorate has sent the eighth summons to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor scam case. Earlier, ED had sent him the seventh summons, but for some reason or the other the Delhi CM has not appeared before the ED. Now the eighth summons can increase the problems of Arvind Kejriwal.
Kejriwal had said that if the court gives an order in this regard, he will appear before the Enforcement Directorate. The Enforcement Directorate approached a city court over Kejriwal’s non-appearance on the summons, on which the court has directed the Delhi Chief Minister to appear before it on March 16.
While issuing the eighth summons, the Enforcement Directorate had rejected the argument that the fresh notice sent to Kejriwal to appear was inappropriate as the case was sub-judice in the local court.
