
State-of-the-art NIELIT centre to be set up in Nava Raipur
Raipur 30 April 2025: The Chhattisgarh government has taken an important decision towards strengthening the technical education of the state and equipping the youth with digital skills. In a meeting of the Council of Ministers held today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the establishment of a state-of-the-art centre of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar was approved. The Council of Ministers also approved the proposal to allot 10.023 acres of land free of cost for the establishment of this institute. This decision will prove to be the foundation stone of the digital future of the state. NIELIT, an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Information and Technology, Government of India, has recently received the status of Deemed University. The institute had sought land for setting up a permanent centre in Chhattisgarh, which aims to promote quality education and training in the field of electronics, information technology and digital skills in the state.
Keeping this demand in view, 10.023 acres of land has been marked by Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Vikas Pradhikaran in Layer-2 area of Village Tendua, which will be allotted to NIELIT on lease. This will be reimbursed to the Authority by the State Government. The establishment of this state-of-the-art institute will give new impetus to technical education, digital skill development and employment opportunities in Chhattisgarh. This center will not only provide modern technical knowledge to the youth, but will also empower the digital ecosystem of the state by making them employable. Also, Chhattisgarh will emerge as an influential center on the national technical education map. It is worth noting that many institutes of national importance have already been established in Nava Raipur, such as – IIM, IIIT and National Law University. Recently, the establishment of National Institute of Fashion Design has also been approved by the Council of Ministers.
