Narmada Parikrama Path will be developed- Development work will be done with the coordinated efforts of the concerned departments: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Madhya Pradesh has special blessings of holy river Maa Narmada. He said that the Parikrama Path of Maa Narmada will be developed keeping in view the convenience of the devotees. For this, a cabinet sub-committee has been formed. For the development of Parikrama Path, a special work plan will be prepared with the coordinated efforts of all the concerned departments and development works will be done. For the convenience of the devotees on the Parikrama Path, development of ghats, tree plantation, housing construction, food area construction etc. will be done.

 Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the unveiling ceremony of the divine statue of Maa Narmada made of ashtadhatu in Indore on Saturday. He also inaugurated the beautification and development works of Maa Narmada Square developed by Indore Municipal Corporation. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav unveiled the statue of Maa Narmada amidst the sound of conch and chants of Maa Narmada. Narmada Ashtak was also sung on this occasion. Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava, Rajya Sabha MP Ms. Kavita Patidar, MLA Shri Mahendra Hardia, Ms. Usha Thakur, Shri Golu Shukla, Shri Ramesh Mendola, Shri Madhu Verma and other public representatives were present.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Maa Narmada has special importance spiritually. This is the only river whose complete parikrama is done by devotees. Its banks are Tapobhoomi and Sadhna Sthal. He said that full care will be taken of the convenience of the devotees doing the parikrama of Maa Narmada, for this we are preparing a plan. He told that all the places related to Lord Krishna in Madhya Pradesh will also be developed as pilgrimage sites. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Maa Narmada has special importance and blessings in Indore. Indore’s Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai has been specially blessed by Maa Narmada. Jagat Guru Shankaracharya of this river took initiation on the banks of Narmada. Indore is getting plenty of drinking water from Narmada. This has given new impetus to the development of Indore.

Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava gave information about the works done in relation to the development of Narmada Square. He said that among the works done under the beautification of the square, the replica of Maa Narmada, Shankh Fountain and Maheshwar Fort are the main centers of attraction. An 8 feet high statue of Maa Narmada has been installed at this square. Its width is 8 feet. There is also a replica of a crocodile below it. This statue of Maa Narmada is made of Ashta Dhatu, which has been prepared by Gwalior artist Anuj Rai. The square is being constructed in two phases and it is being prepared on different themes. Maheshwar Fort will be seen on one island and a replica of Bhedaghat, Shankh Fountain and other attractive figures will be seen on the other island. These figures and structure have been prepared from MS metal. One special thing is that this entire structure is movable, that is, if there is a need to shift the square in future, it can be easily shifted. Information about Narmada Parikrama has also been displayed attractively at the intersection. At the beginning of the program, MLA Shri Madhu Verma gave a welcome address.
