Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Sondwa Micro Lift Irrigation Project will prove to be important for irrigation in the region. This will provide sufficient water to the farmers for irrigation. Diamond polishing and cutting work in Chhakatla will provide employment opportunities to the youth of the region. This will also stop migration to other areas for employment. He said that Narmada water will also be available soon for 169 villages of Sondwa region. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony of Sondwa Micro Lift Irrigation Project costing Rs 1732.45 crore in Chhakatla of Alirajpur district. He approved the construction of Kanya Uchchatar Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Mathwad High School to Higher Secondary Upgradation and a total of 13 roads from Kattiwada to Sondwa from the stage itself. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Sondwa irrigation project will help the region to produce more than one crop. This will open the doors of economic empowerment. This project will also help in preventing migration to other areas in search of employment. The Sondwa project will also solve the problem of water shortage. Today is a historic day for Alirajpur district. Today, the ground breaking ceremony of the Chhakatla diamond polishing and cutting project worth Rs. 15.14 crore was done in Chhakatla. This will also create new employment opportunities for the youth. The youth of Alirajpur will also be able to do diamond cutting work. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that seeing the people excited by the gift given to the people of the area, it seems as if the festival of Bhagoria is being celebrated. He said that the dance of Bhagoria and the beat of the dholak attract even the gods. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Bhagoria festival here is world famous. He will try to participate in it next year.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that 55013 hectares of land of 169 villages of the district will be irrigated by the Sondwa Micro Lift Irrigation Project. This will also bring economic prosperity, the life of the common man will improve, the way of living of the people will change and the future of the coming generations will be secure. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed the Alirajpur Collector to submit a survey report of the need for electricity. He said that after reviewing the report, it will be ensured that electricity is provided as per the requirement. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that recently Geeta Jayanti was also organized. Along with this, Jan Kalyan Parv will be organized in the entire state from 11 December to 26 December and Jan Kalyan Abhiyan will be organized from 11 December to 26 January 2025. In this, 76 types of schemes and 63 types of services will be made available to the citizens at their homes by going village to village. 81000 Pradhan Mantri Awas have been constructed in the district. 87000 farmers of the district receive an amount of Rs 12000 in Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi and Chief Minister Kisan Kalyan Yojana. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, while referring to the glorious history of Alirajpur, said that I feel fortunate to come to the holy land of revolutionary martyr Chandrashekhar Azad who had given the slogan that I am free, I will remain free. Referring to the revolutionary Tantya Mama, he said that he used to take money from the British and distribute it among the poor people. He said that a university has been started in Khargone in the name of Tantya Mama. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav approved a loan of 24 lakhs for oil mill under the PMFAE scheme of the Horticulture Department to the beneficiary of Ladli Behna Yojana and handed over the cheque to Dipanshu, son of Ashok Thepadia. He provided Ayushman card to Gamaria Chauhan. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav released the ‘Janhit Ke Prayas’ coffee table book prepared by the district administration on this occasion. This book contains a picture of the innovations done in the district in the last year. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was welcomed in the program by Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Mr. Nagar Singh Chouhan, MP Mrs. Anita Nagar Singh Chouhan, District Panchayat President Mrs. Hajribai Kharat, other public representatives and a large number of citizens of the area.
