Mussoorie will get a new look: Traffic, roads, tourism and facilities will now be better than before

Mussoorie’s Mega Makeover: A Plan to Revitalize the Queen of Hills

Revamping Mussoorie’s Infrastructure- The Urban Development Department is spearheading a major initiative to upgrade Mussoorie’s infrastructure. This includes improvements to roads, traffic management, and overall amenities, aiming for a more holistic and planned development approach.

Tackling Mussoorie’s Traffic Woes-Addressing Mussoorie’s growing traffic congestion is a priority. The plan involves improving alternative routes to ease traffic pressure on main roads. A stricter traffic plan, developed in collaboration with the RTO and police, will also be implemented.

Road Widening and Improvements-Key roads, including Jharipani Road, Camel’s Back Road, and Landour Road, are slated for widening and improvement. The government will provide the necessary funds to the municipality to ensure smooth and efficient execution of these projects.

Boosting Internal Connectivity-To enhance internal connectivity and reduce congestion on Mall Road, the administration plans to conduct a ropeway survey and restart the golf cart service. These measures aim to provide relief to both tourists and locals.

Exploring New Tourist Destinations-The initiative extends beyond Mall Road, focusing on developing lesser-known attractions like Jharipani Falls, Shikhar Falls, and Mossy Falls. The creation of new trekking routes will also promote adventure tourism.

Identifying and Developing New Tourist Spots-Authorities are tasked with identifying and developing new tourist spots to enrich Mussoorie’s offerings. A comprehensive list of such destinations will be created to further enhance the town’s appeal.

Creating New Parking Solutions-Addressing the parking problem is crucial. New parking areas will be developed, while carefully preserving the natural beauty of the region. The King Craig parking area is also set to open soon.

Ensuring Illumination with Solar Street Lights–The plan includes installing solar streetlights alongside traditional streetlights to ensure continuous illumination, even during power outages, enhancing safety and convenience for visitors.

Digital Transformation with Fastag Integration-The eco-toll tax on the Mussoorie route will now be collected via Fastag, making the toll process fully digital and streamlining traffic flow. This move represents a significant step towards a smarter and more convenient Mussoorie.
