MP NEWS: Number of people generating electricity from sun rays now crosses 11 thousand 300

Bhopal. Enthusiasm is being seen among electricity consumers in Indore Electricity Distribution Company area for green energy, environmental protection and getting free energy in future. The number of people generating electricity from sun in the electricity company area has crossed 11 thousand 300. Of these, two-thirds consumers are from Indore urban area. MD of power distribution company Indore, Amit Tomar, said that under the rooftop solar net scheme, the central government is giving a subsidy of Rs 18 thousand per kilowatt up to a maximum of 3 kilowatts and then a subsidy of Rs 1 lakh 17 thousand up to a maximum of 10 kilowatts. In the company area, consumers are strengthening the feeling of ‘My premises – My electricity’ by installing plants in their premises under the rooftop solar net meter scheme. A domestic consumer who installs a plant up to three kilowatts has to pay only Rs 200 to Rs 300 instead of the current market price of Rs 3,000 when electricity is produced at full capacity.
