MP NEWS: Indore-Ujjain highway will be made six lane at a cost of Rs 988 crore
Bhopal. In view of the event of Simhastha-2028 and the increasing traffic pressure on Indore-Ujjain Highway, the presentation of the action plan prepared by the Public Works Department to make Indore-Ujjain Highway a six-lane road was presented before Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh in the Ministry. Minister Rakesh Singh gave instructions to complete all preparations regarding six-laning of Indore-Ujjain Highway. Minister Shri Singh said that after the financial approval of the action plan, all preparations should be ensured for placing it in the cabinet.
Principal Secretary DP Ahuja, Road Development Corporation Managing Director Avinash Lavania and concerned officials were present in the meeting.
Under the proposed action plan of the Public Works Department, State Highway 59 Indore-Ujjain will be made six lane. It will be approximately 48 km long from Indore’s Aurobindo Medical College Gate to Ujjain’s Harifatak intersection. In this, service roads, two big bridges and flyovers will also be built in Ujjain city. According to preliminary estimates, this work will cost Rs 988 crore. It was told in the meeting that after financial approval, the action plan will be placed in the cabinet for approval.
