National religion comes first and then all other religions. A similar thought is shared by Dharamwati Chauhan, a brave soldier’s daughter from Madhya Pradesh. Dharamwati Chauhan, posted in Assam Rifles, resident of Nandakudi, a small village in Betul, has been selected for UN Mission 2024, for which she will soon go to South Africa. Only Dharamwati’s name from Madhya Pradesh is included in the 22-member women’s team going from India on UN mission. Farmer’s daughter Dharamvati had not even thought that she would ever go on a UN mission. Dharamwati’s father never understood the difference between sons and daughters, due to which one of Dharamwati’s sisters is also posted in Manipur Army Hospital. Younger brother is in Gujarat Merchant Navy, while Dharamvati’s husband is also in Merchant Navy. Dharamvati is leaving her one and a half year old son behind to fulfill her duty for the country.

Dharamwati Chauhan has been posted in Assam Rifles since 2015. Now she is going to South Africa on a UN mission to bring glory to the country. Dharamvati will lead a 22-member women’s contingent that is being sent by the United Nations to maintain peace in Congo, South Africa. Dharamwati is currently in Assam but she has sent this good news through video message. Dharamvati is married. Her husband Jairam Chauhan is posted in the Merchant Navy in Gujarat. Dharmavati is currently in Nagaland. His one and a half year old innocent son is with his maternal grandparents in Betul. It can be understood by looking at Dharamvati that all the relationships fade away in front of nationalism and religion. Dharamwati’s mother Anita Bai Khakhare says that Dharamwati, who is deployed in the country’s security, remains connected to her son through video calls.

Now the journey from village to UN mission
The journey from a small village to a UN mission has not been easy for Dharamwati. Father Bilwant Lal Khakhare is a farmer. He never paid attention to the things of the villagers and gave equal upbringing to his daughters as to his sons. He also kept encouraging his daughters to join the Army, the result of which is that today his two daughters are in the Army and one son is in the Merchant Navy.

Dharamwati, the eldest of five siblings, has a younger sister also posted in the Indian Army at Manipur Army Hospital. A younger brother is a soldier in the Merchant Navy in Surat, Gujarat. Dharamwati Chauhan, who is going to South Africa for UN Mission 2024, is an example for millions of daughters today. The country salutes the courage of brave daughters of India like Dharamwati.
