CM Mohan Yadav Announces ₹2600 Per Quintal Wheat Procurement, Promises Better Opportunities for Farmers and Youth

Jabalpur: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, during the foundation ceremony of a modern cowshed in Umaria village, made a significant announcement for farmers. He declared that wheat would be procured at ₹2600 per quintal, with a planned increase to ₹2800 per quintal in the coming years. Additionally, paddy farmers will receive ₹2000 per hectare or ₹400 per bigha directly in their bank accounts starting this year. He emphasized the government’s commitment to increasing farmers’ income and improving their livelihoods. Calling the cowshed a “sacred place”, CM Yadav highlighted its role in providing shelter and care for abandoned and injured cattle. He also mentioned plans to distribute high-quality calves to farmers, aiming to enhance livestock productivity.

Job Opportunities and Youth Empowerment

CM Yadav made another big promise, stating that by 2028, nearly 70% of the state’s youth will be employed. He revealed that the government is actively working to fill 2.70 lakh government positions, along with creating job opportunities in private and other sectors. In a major announcement for students, he said that on February 21, all 12th-grade graduates from government schools in Madhya Pradesh will receive ₹25,000 for laptops, helping them with their higher education and career goals.

660 MW Power Plant and Tiger Conservation Initiatives

While unveiling a statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Naurozabad, CM Yadav announced the construction of a 660 MW unit at the Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Plant, which currently generates 1340 MW across five units. Further, he shared plans for a new zoo and rescue center near Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, ensuring better treatment and care for sick and aging tigers. During the event, renowned artists Rupa Baiga and Sakoon Baiga presented CM Yadav with traditional Baiga artwork, showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage.
