Raipur, 07 February 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai’s government has filled the farmers of Chhattisgarh with enthusiasm by transferring Rs 52 thousand crore to their accounts within a year. Farmers have been paid within a week of the completion of paddy procurement. With Rs 52 thousand crore coming into the accounts of farmers, they are investing heavily in farming and this has also made the markets buzz, which is having a direct impact on the urban economy. The sale of tractors etc. has touched a record figure. Due to getting a fair price for paddy, the number of farmers increased and this year 25 lakh 72 thousand farmers sold a record 149 lakh 25 thousand metric tonnes of paddy. With more than 25 lakh farmers selling paddy in the silver jubilee year of Chhattisgarh, the positive direction of farming in Chhattisgarh is clear. Within a year, Rs 34,500 crore has been spent on paddy procurement at support price and Rs 12,000 crore has been spent under Krishak Unnati Yojana. Apart from this, the government has transferred an amount of about Rs 500 crore to the accounts of 5 lakh 62 thousand landless farmers under Deendayal Upadhyay Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Kalyan Yojana. Along with this, an amount of Rs 1735 crore has also been given to the farmers’ accounts under the Modi government’s Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.

Rs 2707 crore has been spent under the government’s scheme to provide free electricity to 5 HP agricultural pumps. Along with this, an auxiliary grant of Rs 200 crore has been given for solar pumps. Rs 200 crore has been spent for electrification of agricultural pumps. Rs 304 crore has been spent under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Rs 94 crore has been spent under the Krishak Samagra Vikas Yojana. Shakambari Yojana is run to encourage farmers who grow vegetables. Rs 9 crore has been spent on this and 7323 farmers have been benefited. The government is working rapidly to modernize farming. Pesticides are being sprayed in the fields through drone sisters. Under the Agricultural Mechanization Mission, subsidies are given on agricultural equipment. 3204 farmers have availed its benefit. Rs 79 crore has been spent on this.

Rs 46 crore has been spent under the National Food Security Mission. This has benefited 4627 farmers. Similarly, 24,345 farmers have benefited from the National Mission on Ice Seeds and Oil Palm Scheme. An amount of Rs 11 crore has been spent on this. Under the Submission on Seed and Planting Material Scheme, more than 2 lakh 31 thousand farmers have been benefited and an amount of Rs 9 crore has been spent on this. Similarly, under the Rainfed Area Development Scheme, 3,824 farmers have been benefited and an amount of Rs 7 crore has been spent on this. Having a Soil Health Card makes it easier for farmers to take crop-related decisions. 1 lakh 45 thousand farmers have been benefited under the Soil Health Management Scheme. An expenditure of Rs 5 crore has been incurred on this. Rs 24 crore has been spent on the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana. More than 13 thousand farmers are getting benefits from this scheme. More than 24 thousand farmers have benefited from the Traditional Agriculture Development Scheme. Rs 18 crore has been spent on this. Similarly, Rs 18 crore has also been spent on Agriculture Extension and more than 8 thousand farmer brothers have benefited from this. Continuous work is being done to promote organic farming. Rs 15 crore has been spent on this within a year. 15 thousand 500 farmers have benefited from this.
