Modi government is always ready to increase agricultural production and welfare of farmers: Chief Minister Sai

Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has congratulated and wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi for releasing 109 varieties of climate-friendly and biofortified crops with high production capacity. He said that these new varieties of crops will further increase the production capacity of Chhattisgarh, especially paddy. This will make the farmers of the state more prosperous with advanced farming.

Chief Minister Shri Sai has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan and agricultural scientists for this revolutionary work in the field of agriculture on Twitter platform X and congratulated all the farmers.

It is noteworthy that today Prime Minister Narendra Modi released 109 varieties of climate-friendly and biofortified crops with high production capacity at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR) in New Delhi. These include 34 field crops and 27 horticultural crops. According to scientists, such varieties of paddy have been prepared, which will require 20 percent less water. Among these, 9 improved varieties of rice and 2 improved varieties of wheat have been prepared. Apart from this, among pulses, 2 improved varieties each of pigeon pea and gram and 3 improved varieties of lentil will be available.
