Mobiles banned in Ujjain Mahakal temple, despite the efforts of officers, the ban is not being implemented

Ujjain (Mahakal Temple): Recently, once again, mobile phones have been banned for visitors in Mahakal temple. The temple committee has taken this decision due to security and crowd control. However, due to practical problems, it is becoming difficult to follow this rule, and many devotees are entering the temple with mobile phones. Attempts have been made several times to ban the use of mobile phones in Mahakal temple, but every time the committee has faced difficulty in enforcing the rules. The main reason for this is that the entry and exit gates of the temple are different, and the use of mobile phones in the online system is also a problem. Due to this, visitors take advantage of these loopholes and reach inside with mobile phones. Officials are trying to solve these problems. There are many entry routes to Mahakal temple. General devotees enter from Nandi Mandapam of Mahakal Mahalok, and then they go to the temple via Mansarovar Facility Center. Devotees keep their mobile phones in the Mansarovar Facility Center and go to the temple for darshan, but after darshan they have to go out of the temple through another gate, due to which they have to walk again to reach the Mansarovar Facility Center. This problem is also with the devotees who take tickets for quick darshan from Avantika Gate and Gate No. 4. They also have to walk a long distance to these entry gates to keep their mobiles.

The Mahakal Temple Committee allows devotees coming from all over the country to have Bhasma Aarti darshan online. When devotees enter the temple at 4 am, they have to check the permission and ID for Bhasma Aarti on their mobile. After this, they are issued RFID bands, and then they have to deposit the mobile. After this, devotees come back and stand in queue for darshan. This process takes time, and Bhasma Aarti starts. Seeing the trouble of the devotees, some relaxation is given in the rule and they are allowed to carry mobiles to Nandi, Ganesh and Kartikeya Mandap. After Mahakal Mahalok is formed, 50 to 60 thousand devotees visit the temple daily for darshan. Depositing and then returning the mobile phones of such a large number of devotees has become a big problem. Apart from darshan, devotees have to stand in long queues to deposit and then take back their mobile phones. For this, adequate mobile deposit facility should be provided. Apart from this, a circuit should be made between the entry and exit gates so that devotees do not face any problem in keeping and taking back their mobile phones. There is no ban on the use of mobile phones in the temple, but only on bringing mobile phones inside, so devotees should not enter the temple with mobile phones. Devotees should be better informed and publicized about this rule.
