Mira Kapoor regrets commenting on working women

Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Kapoor was heavily criticised in 2017 when she made a comment about working women. Mira said that her daughter is not a “puppy” and questioned why women would want to have kids if they can’t spend time with them. Now, Mira has said in an interview that one of the biggest misconceptions about her was that she looked down on working women and has also expressed regret over her previous comment.

Recently, in an interview, Mira said that at that time she felt like she was pushed into a corner as people were questioning why an educated woman like her chose to be a stay-at-home mother. Mira felt this thinking was wrong and said that at that time she wanted to give time to her children.

She said, “I think I probably did my part by saying something like that… I don’t think I agree with them right now. I think I’ve come a long way from that.” Meera admitted that her comments were not liked for some reason, and said, “I can understand why it was not taken well. I think I was in a vulnerable, emotional state. I think I was just trying to defend myself that my choices are okay too.” Meera expressed regret for whatever she said and said that it hurt a lot of people.
